more work i have done.......
This is my favorite pattern to use. It is a shell pattern. I used it on the turquoise, white and grey blanket too. The top is an owl, the second one is a little bird, the next is a dog, and the last one a doilie. My first doilie!! I was quite proud of myself when i finished it!

table runner......
I have decided to start making Christmas presents early this year..... My dad is wanting a table runner for their kitchen table. It's a big table! I cant find a pattern I like and I am just not that advanced!! I did make a doilie today. Or I started it last night and finished it today. It was hard but not horribly hard. It is defiantly tedious!
I don't know what to do! Should I just do it and make the table runner or should I get a piece of muslin or light material and make the edging around it. urgh! And I am afraid that if I fully make the table runner it will take me FOREVER to make it and I have to make a bunch of presents....
What to do, what to do.......

babies, blankets, and baby showers oh my!
First off, if you are reading this i want to say thank you for stopping by my blog and reading my first posting!!So it has been the summer of babies this year! i have made (it feels like) a million baby blankets! Not only are most of my friends expecting babies but my sister AND sister-in-law are due within about 4 weeks of each other! I am going to have a niece and and a nephew. I am extremely excited and cant wait. Yeah I have been very busy! I have had to make about 6 baby blankets so far and more are to come. The hardest thing to me is to pick out a pattern. I try to fit the blanket to the mothers personality and also try very hard to match the colors to the bedding that the parents picked out, unless of course they say otherwise. A few of the blankets I did kind of do my own thing but I am defiantly my own worst critic! Everyone can tell me that the blanket is the most beautiful thing they have ever seen and all I can say is I don't like it. All the flaws (that may or may not be there) just scream at me!! I want so bad for the recipient of the blanket to love it and they usually do but I guess I want to love it too.
I finished my sisters blanket the day before her shower. I wasn't sure about the colors. They looked great on her bedding but on the blanket I was working on it just wasn't looking right (mulberry, lime, dusty pink, and lavender) I finally found inspiration on lionbrandyarn.com. I ended up making 4 big granny squares and sewing them together. And some flowers for embellishments. She liked it so I was very happy.
I actually sold my first baby blanket this summer too which was very exciting for me. I have only really sold a few stuffed animals and sock monkeys that I have made. I actually did like this blanket very much. And of course my silly self didn't take a picture of it. Hopefully they will at the shower.
It was a blanket for a girl but the colors were defiantly not your normal girl colors, darker turquoise, light turquoise, white, light grey, and steel gray. But it turned out really pretty. Anyways, I am currently working on dishrags for my sister, then a mobile for a dear friend who owns a jewelry shop that requested a pig mobile, and we will see after that. I am sure more baby blankets!! haha
